Myanmar Korea Power Co., Ltd. is incorporated in 2013 under the laws of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The shareholders are Korea western Power Co., Ltd., Busan Korea Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. , Hana Daetoo Securities Co., Ltd. and Hexa International Co., Ltd.

This company was formed as a project company for the establishment of 500 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant (Thaketa) to supply electric power to the Thilawa Industrial Zone and also to upgrading base load of power generation in the region of Yangon.The first unit of the Combined Cycle Power Plant will be completed in December 2014 and the whole project shall be completed in December 2015.
